HARRY BARFIELD

  "Harry Barfield was a Royal navy officer who - sadly - was killed when a shell exploded by accident in a gun turret of his ship in 1910. But fate smiled on the young man and despite his injuries and death, he found that he had been revived by the skilled and quick-thinking ship's surgeon. Recovering in the naval hospital in London Harry found that he had acquired an incredible gift - or curse - in that he could see and speak with the dead!  Harry wasn't very happy about this at first, but finally accepted his fate when he meets up with Professor Herbert Gladstone and his young assistant Miss Maude Layton.
